    In June of 1981, Eugene Lang made a promise to give a scholarship to every member of the 6th grade class at PS 121 in East Harlem that was admitted to a four-year college. He became truly involved in the lives of his "Dreamers" and went above and beyond his promise, creating the "I Have A Dream" Foundation, which has supported over 18,000 Dreamers since its inception.

A truly self-made man with a huge heart, Mr. Lang contributed more than $150 million to charities and institutions during his lifetime, and ultimately helped to serve 16,000 students with the creation of the "I Have A Dream" Foundation.
